So I recently got back from a trip to Maine traveling along the coast for 12 days. The amount of time that my husband and I spent outdoors hiking and connecting with nature was incredible. Now most of you know how much I love to be outside doing different activities, but this trip was truly transformative for me. I was off my computer used my cell phone minimally and have never felt so relaxed and centered from the amount of self care and nature bathing that took place. So I feel compelled even more to remind you of the importance of caring for yourself and so much more as we approach the holiday season.
So I have included here some of my self-care tips. Find what resonates with you and do it on a daily basis. Create a habit. It is more healing that any medication or supplement that you might take.
1.Make sure you take time to to do some sort of movement daily. If your work entails being in front of a computer be sure that you take breaks to get away every 90 minutes and take a short walk. If you enjoy Yoga, Aerobics be sure to get that in daily
2. Practice gratitude daily. Writing down what you are grateful for brings more blessings into our life.
3. Get that early morning sunlight to increase cortisol levels. Look directly at the sun for 2-3 minutes to increase energy naturally and support your circadian rhythms. You will feel more energized and mentally alert.
4. If you get that monthly massage don’t skip November or December.
5. Remember that when you say No to an event or something you can’t fit in you are saying Yes to yourself. Too much of anything creates stress.
6. Prioritize sleep and keep the same schedule so that you get between 8-9 hours a night.
7. Do cold water splash to face every morning. This stimulates the Vagus nerve, promotes regular digestion and increases cortisol naturally.
7. Breathe deep daily for 10-15 minutes. Do this when you are outside walking or taking a break.
8. Have healthy snacks on hand such as nuts, fruit. This avoids the temptation to eat those foods that make us feel sluggish
9. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Start your day with 8-10 ounces of water. Keep a water bottle in the car so that you maintain hydration.
10. Light a candle or diffuse your favorite essential oil to relax and stay centered.
11. Take a relaxing bath in the evening to promote sleep
12. Prioritize the relationships that are important to you and spend quality time with those individuals.
To continue to boost your immune system. I have included a link to a protocol that does include supplements when we need them.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with family, friends and those you love and care for. Safe travels and take care of yourself and each other.
